Introduction
Stress fractures are tiny cracks in the thigh bone (femur) caused by repetitive stress rather than a single trauma.
Signs/Symptoms
Gradual onset of thigh or groin pain
Pain worsening with activity but easing at rest
Localised tenderness
Causes
Overtraining or sudden load increases
Poor footwear or training surfaces
Low bone density or nutrition issues
