Overview

A common cause of heel pain due to inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue running along the bottom of your foot.

Common Signs & Symptoms

  • Heel pain, especially in the morning

  • Pain that improves with movement but worsens later

  • Tight arches

  • Discomfort with prolonged standing or walking

How It Happens (Causes)

  • Overuse (walking, running)

  • Poor footwear

  • Flat feet or high arches

  • Tight calf muscles
