Hopping Assessment
Overview
Single-leg hop tests evaluate power, symmetry and tolerance to impact—commonly used after ACL, ankle or calf injuries.
Common Injuries or Challenges
Limb asymmetry, reduced power or poor landing control after lower-limb injury
Assessment Approach
Single-leg hop distance, triple-hop and timed hop tests plus landing quality analysis and comparison to the uninjured limb.
Rehab & Return to Sport Plan
Progressive plyometrics and landing retraining, strength rebalance, and achieving objective symmetry and control before return to higher-impact sport.
