Disc Bulge / Herniation
Introduction
A disc bulge or herniation occurs when the cushioning discs between the vertebrae are injured or pushed out of place, sometimes pressing on nerves. This can cause back pain and radiating leg symptoms.
Signs/Symptoms
Low back pain, stiffness, nerve pain (sciatica), numbness, tingling, or weakness in the legs.
Causes
Repetitive strain, heavy lifting, poor posture, or age-related disc changes.
How Physio Can Help
Physiotherapy helps by reducing pain, improving mobility, and strengthening the spine. Treatment may include manual therapy, postural retraining, and a tailored core stability program.
